Since Alan and I met at a New Year’s Eve music campout, it’s only fitting that we should now be heading out to live full time in our camper. But as much as we gel in our love of camping, our blended music, and simple living, we each bring contrasting characteristics to our relational symphony. Alan is ever the analyst, while I approach life more intuitively and emotionally; he latches onto the concreteness of life, while I pursue the ephemeral and illusive. I guess you could say that Alan is the mathematician of our life’s music, while I am the artist. However you look at it, it all blends together well and it’s beautiful music to us!
Currently (May 2012). . .

we’re spending this week in another beautiful Corps of Engineers campground. This one is in the middle of the cornfields of Illinois near a town called Carlyle. We began our Lewis and Clark expedition at the Illinois State Historic Site in Hartford, IL (just across the river from St. Louis) at Camp Dubois. This was the official starting point of the L & C Expedition which began in 1804. Then we’re diverting from “the expedition” for a few weeks to pursue some other interests.
Next week we’ll be driving up to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to work on a Habitat for Humanity build for a week or so. Then we’ll touch bases with Alan’s grandson who attends Carlton College near Minneapolis, MN.
