As you can probably tell from the name of the website this is a music kind of place! My husband and I play music together, a mix of guitar, a little harmonica, mandolin, and dulcimer. Ours is campfire music–traditional, folk, Gospel, bluegrass, grass roots kind of stuff–the type of music that many people know and can sing along. We’re jammers at heart because special things happen when people share their music.
Ah, but music is more than instruments and vocals. . .
Technically, music is the blending of science and art. It’s comprised of both the concrete and intuitive perceptions. It’s the notes, the measures, the rhythm; but it’s also the feel, the mood, the emotions that are evoked when playing or listening.
The music of life, too, is comprised of contrasts: the merging of tangible and perceived; the blending of physical and spiritual; the marriage of material and emotional. It’s balance. And when done well, it results in a graceful life, well-lived.
Balance. . .when done well, both music and life produce a beauty, harmony, and a satisfying expression of emotion.
We feel that chasing the music, an intentional pursuit of worthy experiences, is time well spent.
